We’re going on a food hunt!

A family scavenger hunt with a tasty twist

Discovering a town through its food? For real? You bet! On the Rapperswil-Jona FoodTrail, you’ll find out plenty of fascinating and unfamiliar facts about the “town of roses”…

…and enjoy some of its tastiest culinary delights along the way!

The FoodTrail begins at the tourist information office on Fischmarktplatz, where you will receive your starter pack with all the details and the first puzzle. It’s then time to find the first snack stop!

The trail leads beneath the impressive chestnut trees lining the lake and later heads through the lovely Old Town.

A scavenger hunt is hungry work, so the places serving up delicious delicacies along the trail go down a treat. Simply hand over the coupon included in your starter pack and enjoy some tasty local specialties.

The tasks aren't too tough, but they do require focus and careful observation. Teamwork is the key to success! The younger members of the family often have a keener eye and spot those crucial details faster, while the older ones win out with a little more wisdom and experience!

In any case, the FoodTrail is a fun and exciting adventure, helping kids and grown-ups alike to discover a town from a different perspective.

With every task you complete, you learn a few more fascinating and unfamiliar facts about Rapperswil – and you’ll also have the chance to pick up a souvenir or two along the way! And we’re proud we didn’t have to open the emergency envelope that came with our starter packs!

Have we tickled your imagination as well as your tastebuds? Here are a few more insider tips for the journey:

  • Make sure you’re feeling hungry!
  • Schedule enough time – there’s plenty more to see and do once you finish the FoodTrail!
  • Start as early as possible (11.00am is ideal), as a few of the stops close relatively early!
  • Remember to take some change with you to pay for drinks at one or two of the stops, to leave a tip or to buy yourself something extra!

A family ticket (two adults and two children) costs CHF 140. The price includes six local specialties to eat and drink – on the trail or later at home. The trail takes around three hours.
