Baden Museum of History – Exciting castle discovery tour
Discover the daily life of families from different historical eras with Frank the bat.
The Landvogteischloss (Bailiff’s Castle) on the Limmat has been a witness to Baden’s turbulent history. The medieval kitchen tells the story of the bailiff’s family, the vaulted cellar reminds us that this was once a prison, and the suits of armor are evidence of Baden’s military history. On a journey through the history of the castle, you not only meet a hardworking family of hoteliers from the golden age of Baden’s spa – you might even encounter your own great-grandmother cooking...
Frank the bat accompanies visitors of all ages through the castle, and his treasure chest invites them to play and discover the site. In the modern annex, the ‘History >linked<’ exhibition delights curious museum-goers with its hands-on stations that reveal industrial and spa history.
